Responsible for the design to incorporate new field instrumentation into an existing Siemens PLC \ InTouch SCADA control system. The project also involved the construction of new PID, Motor and Valve faceplates within the SCADA system for new Air dissolvers on an existing Krofta Clarifier and improvements to chemical dosing control on the Effluent Treatment Plant.

Responsible for the design of the Intertripping and IEC Bus Fibre networks. This primarily involved the ‘control’ element of incorporating a new ABB 11kV Switchboard into the mill’s existing 11kV Network. This extended to the integration of new intertripping relays on the mill’s existing 11kV Switchboards.

Responsible for the E & I Installation Design, incorporating New MCC, marshalling panels, air distribution panels, solenoid boxes and Metso DCS cabinets. The design also incorporated written specifications for the MCC, Fibre networks, Instrument and Electrical Installation.
Responsible for the E & I installation design for a fuel offloading facility at Cauldon Works. This incorporated a new ABB MCC, Mono Pumps MCC, Field Remote I\O and Solenoid Valve Panels. This also involved the design of the Profibus DP Fibre and Copper Networks and a Profibus PA hazardous area network.

Responsible for the design and installation of an Arc Detection Control Panel and its associated Sensors, Protection Relays, Expansion Modules and CAT5 Network. This system was retrofitted to an existing LV MCC to trip the incomer on detection of a fault.

Responsible for the E & I Design and Installation of a crushing plant for 10mm rock salt. This involved the design and installation of a bespoke MCC and integration with the mines existing control system. This also involved a challenging installation due to the location 165 metres beneath ground and the use of a catenary system for the cable containment.

Responsible for the design of a Siemens S7-300 PLC Control Panel, the E & I Installation Design and the software engineering of a Siemens WINCC 7 SCADA application. This also involved the onsite commissioning of the electrical installation, control system and its associated Ethernet network.

Responsible for the E & I Installation Design of 6 Off Siemens S7-300 Remote I\O Field panels complete with multi drop Fibre Profibus network. This also involved the software engineering for the Siemens OP270 HMI’s and the integration into the mills existing Siemens PCS7 drives monitoring system.

Involved with the electrical design for a new particle board plant to be constructed in Inverness. The design to ascertain detailed budget costs incorporated Single Line Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Location drawings, IEC Bus Network drawings, LV & HV MCC Type Circuits and equipment specifications.

Responsible for the E & I Design and Installation of a Fragrance Addition system. Also responsible for the development and Commissioning of the Siemens S7 ET200S PLC code and integration of the new equipment within the existing control system.

Responsible for the Control System Design, incorporating fibre \ copper Profibus network, Siemens S7 Remote I\O Field Boxes, ABB ACS800 VSD’s, Siemens Simocode motor managers and a multi Client SCADA application. This also involved the software engineering of a Wonderware InTouch 10 server \ client SCADA system and on site commissioning of the control system, associated networks and process equipment.
Responsible for the QVF Mixer Control Panels and E & I installation design, incorporating field barriers and hazardous area instrumentation. Producing schematic diagrams, general arrangements, cable block diagrams, termination schedules, pneumatic schedules, routing drawings and intrinsic safety calculations etc.
Responsible for the E & I design and installation, incorporating MCC, field marshalling, air distribution & solenoid box designs. On site commissioning of complete installation back to Honeywell TDC3000 DCS system. The project also incorporated the installation of a new ABB ACS550 Inverter drive, replacement of the existing DC motor and the removal of the redundant DC Drives cabinet and associated cabling.
Site based and responsible for the E & I Installation design and commissioning of a number projects at Cauldon Works. These projects involved the design and installation of new ABB MCC’s, Field Remote I\O and Solenoid Valve Panels. The role also involved managing the electrical sub-contractors and responsibility for delivering the E & I content of the projects on time.
Site based and responsible for the E & I Installation design and commissioning of a number of smaller projects at Bridgewater Paper. These included the installation of Winder Guards Safety Circuits, Nalco Chemical Rigs and Additional DCS Marshalling.
